Well, the first two weeks of September have come and gone. The weather has definitely not been fall like as it has been in the 70s and 80s here. I am not complaining. Fall weather will come soon enough only to open the door to that not so nice winter weather. Things around here have been quiet (at least for us). So a quick run down to share with you.
Medically, everything is good. The high blood pressure numbers we were concerned about with B have come down to a more normal level. The medications and eating changes have done what they were supposed to do and we are happy about that. B had a new doctor this time around. A young female resident. B was a little leery of a female doctor, not that he had anything against her because she is a woman but more that he didn't feel comfortable with a female doctor. He was pleasantly surprised about how much he liked her and is confident she will take good care of him. I had my monthly B12 shot and had labs done because my doctor had changed the dosage on my calcium and Vitamin D medication and needed to see if it was doing its job. No news on that yet.
We both got haircuts for the fall and will probably not need another till spring. Purchases amounted to a set of flannel sheets for our bed as well as a new snowblower which was on a pre-winter sale for almost $500 less than regular pricing. We found some nice bath towels on sale as well as some nice sweatshirts for the 2 of us. A couple more pumpkin spice candles from the dollar store and the book "Save Me the Plums" by Ruth Reichl at the used bookstore.
We have been eating home more to save money but we did make a stop at Panera's one day. We love their soups and sandwiches. And of course, a run to Applebees for mozzarella sticks.
All in all, a normal two weeks around this house.
I am glad to hear the health issues are handled, my friend. And i absolutely love Panera's sandwiches too! And mozzarella sticks?? LOVE! Have a cozy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we are 2 weeks into September already.
ReplyDeleteIt's really warm here too, supposed to be 91 today!
We have a new doctor too, who is female. My husband felt the same as yours but he liked her. I told him it's no different that us women going to male OB/GYNs all those years! He did agree with that, just something to get used to.
