And October Goes On...

So the second week of October moved along busily...

Monday 10/6 was a visit to the Post Office to send mail and get a book of stamps (way too expensive). Then B and I stopped in at Cost cutters to see if we could get a walk-in for haircuts.  We did and now we look so much better than shaggy hippies as B says.

Wednesday 10/8 was my birthday (no age here). B and I went out to dinner with our youngest son and dil to celebrate.  We had a fun time.

Thursday 10/9 was my cat Al's annual trip to the Vet. He got a clean bill of health. He has a bit of an allergy. The Vet said that there was an exceptionally high pollen count for animals this past summer. He is a hefty little furball weighing in at 15 lbs. He also got a distemper vaccine

We signed up for two garbage cans from the township-one for garbage & one for recycling.  These were delivered Thursday afternoon.  Up to this point we were buying tags for bags of garbage which were costing us $6.00 per week.  The two bins cost only $15 a month.  Good savings.

Friday 10/10, we went to Lowe's to pick up some paint, price flooring for the guest room and buy a recycling can for the kitchen. Of course, B had to press the buttons on the Halloween display.  He loves Halloween and enjoys the displays as much as kids do.

Saturday 10/11, we went to a Giant garage sale in Escanaba which turned out to be a total waste of time.  Baby clothes, old Christmas decorations and a lot of junk.  But it did get us out of the house for a nice ride.

Sunday 10/12, we put away all the front deck furniture as well as the summer lawn decor for the season.  We have a large swing on the front deck but the last couple years we have been keeping the frame on the deck over the winter and just putting the swing section in the garage.  The frame is too heavy to be taking off and putting up again every year.  It was sad to see everything go into the garage for the season as it means soon that dreaded winter weather will be here.
