Sunday Summary...

Tuesday was B and my day for errands.  First, we headed to the library. I always donate books that I have read and will probably not read again to the library.  They have a used book sale about 3 times per year and it is for a good cause.  I also brought in two jigsaw puzzles that I had finished. The library has a table set up in the main lobby for people to donate jigsaw puzzles and then take one or two from the table.  I like that because jigsaw puzzles are fairly expensive and once you have done the puzzle, it is nice to share it with someone else. We then went to Lowes as we needed weather stripping for the front and back doors for the winter, batteries for the flashlights and paint for B to repaint our kitchen cupboards. We also picked up a new Christmas tree stand as well.

Wednesday, we finished getting all the outdoor furniture off the front deck and put away in the garage for the winter.  B tacked down an indoor/outdoor runner on the deck.  It makes it safer to walk from the front door to the steps during the icy winter months.  I tend to slip on the smallest piece of ice so it's basically a safety step for me.  B got the snowblowers prepared for winter with oil changes.  The emergency kit for the car was finished by me and put in the back of the car.

Friday, B took our donations to the St. Vincent De Paul store as well as to their food bank.  When he got home, he got all the firewood put in the basement next to the wood burning stove.  With that chore done, our winter emergency preparations for possible power outages are completed and ready to go.  Hopefully we will not have to use them this year.

I want to mention that I do read your blogs every day but for some reason, a number of them have started requiring me to use a password to comment on a posting.  I have never needed to do that before so I am wondering if blogger is changing things.

The picture is from the Keweenaw Peninsula in the furthest northern part of the state.  Beautiful!
