Thursday Tidbits

Well, what started out as a small leak in the basement turned
into a larger more expensive problem.  We have had this small
leak in the basement right below the bathroom for almost a year.
B said it was nothing to worry about so he kept a large bucket
under it in the basement to catch the drips.  Finally, after the major
snow melt and run off we had this week, he said he was concerned
that the pipes would break and we would have a worse problem.
So he called the plumber who came over quite quickly.  3 hours
later, the plumber had to replace all the affected pipes in the basement
plus the drain in the bathtub.  I am not looking forward to the bill
on this.

Wednesday afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised to find in the mail
a very large refund from our dentist.  It seems what we paid ahead of
time to cover the cost of repairing B's broken crown was not as much
as we thought as the insurance covered more than originally thought.

However, Wednesday evening when I went to get the laundry I had put
into wash earlier, I found water all over my laundry room.  It seems
the hose came loose from the drain and the whole wash cycle was on
the floor including soap suds.  By the time, B and I got the hose reattached
and the floor cleaned up, it was bedtime.

We fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillows.

Here's hoping Thursday is a bit better.
