Tiny Victories for the Week of September 17th
It didn't start out to be a victory but it ended that way. On Monday, B went out to prune a bush. Although we have discussed not getting on ladders at his age (77), he got one out anyway. Suddenly I hear a crash, run outside to find him laying in the bush not moving. The neighbor who had come running across the road when she heard him yell, was kneeling next to him checking him out. I kept calling his name until he answered me and said he was okay. Refusing our advice of staying still, he got up and said he was only a little sore. It turned out that although his back was sore, he was okay and is now moving around quite well. A victory.
Because of B's fall, we stayed around the house most of the week. Friday, we went to a used book sale at our local library where I purchased 6 books for $20. The books were actually $10 but I gave them a $20 as an extra donation as they use the money for purchases for the library. Next, we stopped at the Snyder's Drug Store to find out when they were giving out the new covid shots. The girl said that would start next week in October, so we will go get ours then. We also went to the local thrift shop and I found 2 shirts as well as a cat planter for $10 but gave them $20 because it is for a good cause. Dinner was Subway sandwiches that we brought home as well as french fries made by B.
The autumn colors are appearing everywhere now and they say the peak of the season in the UP will be next week. B and I are taking a day to go to the Keeweenaw Peninsula, which is about a 3 hour drive from here, to see the colors one last time before the color white appears in the UP.
I hope all of you had a number of tiny victories this past week.

So glad that B was not seriously injured!!! Tiny victories are the best as they really add up over time.
