After the events that happened during the Thanksgiving holiday, I am happy to report that so far Christmas has been going well. I have been taking my blood pressure every day and it seems to be going down and remaining steady. This is good news. I have been trying very hard not to let the holidays add any more stress and I think I am doing a good job at that. My family says I seem more relaxed these days.
I was able to start decorating the house last week and instead of trying to do it all in one day, I took 3 days to finish it. We went Christmas tree shopping with the kids and had a wonderful time not only with getting the tree but also enjoying hot apple cider around the fire pit the tree farm had and taking Christmas pictures. B and I decided not to decorate the tree as soon as the kids put it up but waited a day and worked on it slowly. Taking breaks for hot chocolate and Christmas movies on the tv. I have to say that this Christmas has been the least stressful so far.
I have a good portion of my shopping done. I usually shop online. I cannot take all the crowds in the store. But I still have a few stocking stuffers to get as well as visit the animal shelter's pop up store for my daughters-in-law who love animals.
I am going to be baking this weekend and will wrap one or two gifts to start so I don't have too much to do at the last minute.
Well, that's an update on things happening here. I hope all of you are having a lovely holiday so far.
Glad you are doing better! I think that doing things slowly is a better idea, it does make it less stressful.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely. And I so relate to the way you are doing things, slowly and deliberately. Less stress and more cozy! That is always good. Have a cozy weekend!
