My mornings are for my daily routines. My afternoons are for whatevers.Routines - morning coffee and journaling (regular and faith) on back deck
on warm, sunny days -in house if weather is icky, 30mins. of
local news, make bed, take medication, computer work, lunch
and chores around the house and/or errands run
Whatevers - B trimmed a bush that was growing like gangbusters in front
of the deck. It had gotten so big, there was no view to look at.
B has also been working on organizing our basement for the last
two weeks. Every time he says there is just one more small thing
to do, it turns into a week long project.
I picked three more tomatoes off my backyard deck tomato plant
and deadheaded my flower bushes. I have also been decluttering
on a regular basis. I usually ask my kids if they want something
before I put it in the donate pile. More times than not, they are not
interested in the items. Times have changed and young people today
do not see the need to keep hand me downs.
We are planning to go to Home Depot and look at flooring for the guest
room. We haven't decided whether to go with carpet or vinyl flooring.
It will come down to cost more than anything else.
We still have not gotten the new toilet put in. It seems the plumbers
around here don't want to do such a small job. My youngest son has put
one in before and said he could it for us in October when work isn't so
busy. I hope so because we don't want to put the new floor tiles in until
the toilet is installed.
Between the bathroom and the guest room, I had my chore list all worked
out as part of my daily routines. Disruptions to that routine send me to a
large cup of coffee and a sit on my porch swing to destress.
How do you handle disruptions in your routines?
