Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2017

"There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe nor politic nor popular, but he must take it because his conscience tells him it is right."

  1. In recent years, I've been called to this time more often than before, and the result is increasing sorrow and loneliness as my actions push me deeper into isolation territory. If not for bloggers who have now become faithful friends, tugging me to my feet every time the hurt gets to me when I choose to do what is right yet unpopular, I'd be more than broken and shattered by now. Where would I be without this love from people who live worlds away, whom I have never met and probably never will?

They have taught me an important lesson. I believe that to each of us a Divine Call has been sent out- as we answer that call, as we trudge up that hard path, we must do it with both hands held out to help other fellow travelers too.

    1. Yes, it is important that we stand up for those positions that we know in our hearts and consciences are right. If not, we send the message that we will blindly follow the pack no matter how much we disagree. When we follow blindly, we disregard those who follow their own path which makes us no better than the leaders who disregard our importance as thinking human beings.
